New Logitech G mouse, keyboard target eSports pros

Logitech G has introduced a new keyboard and mouse aimed at gamers and designed in collaboration with eSports participants.

The Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse and Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard will be available in Australia next month.

The company says the mouse features its most accurate optical gaming sensor, a metal spring button tensioning system, onboard memory for driver-free operation on tournament systems, and a comfortable, durable and lightweight design.

It allows the saving of exact DPI settings, button assignments, and lighting configuration to its onboard memory, using the Logitech Gaming Software.

The top surface of the mouse has been treated with a special coating to improve durability and grip, and the left and right buttons are claimed to have been tested to exceed 20 million clicks – the equivalent of a pro gamer training 10 hours every day for two years.

The keyboard is a tenkeyless mechanical gaming device purpose-built for professional competition.

It has a detachable micro-USB connector to ensure that the cable will not break at the connection point when bouncing around in a bag and being transported between events.

Players who use optional Logitech Gaming Software can select and personalise each individual key light from more than 16.8 million colours, and save a lighting pattern to onboard memory.

"Competing at the top level requires a well-built mouse,” said Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham of Cloud 9 CS:GO.

“After working closely with Logitech and extensive testing, the new Pro Gaming Mouse is my preferred mouse. With a comfortable shape and top-of-the-line sensor, I never have problems picking off my enemies."

Ujesh Desai, vice-president and general manager of Logitech G, said: "eSports athletes are extremely picky and demanding, and we love it.

"We give them access to our prototype designs early and often, and let them rip 'em apart. The result is the Pro Gaming Keyboard with ultra-fast switches, durable construction, and a tenkeyless design that's easy to transport. If you play to win, this is your keyboard."

The Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse and Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard have RRPs of $99.95 and $179.95 respectively.
