Acer Predator 21 X targets hardcore gamers

Acer’s Predator is a laptop aimed at gamers, being fast and also sporting the world’s first 21” curved screen.

it is built for hardcore gamers – with 21”, 2560 x 1080 curved screen; eye tracking; four speakers, two subwoofers (Dolby Audio and TrueHarmony 4.2); dual NVIDIA 1080 SLI 16GB GPU; Intel’s Core i7-7820HK overclockable processor; 64GB RAM; and two PCIe NVMe Raid 0 SSDs and two SATA drives. It even comes with a Pelican road case.

The Predator 21 X (GX21-71) is the world’s first gaming laptop to offer a curved 21”, 2000R (radius) 21:9 ratio, IPS display (2560 x 1080 resolution with NVIDIA G-SYNC 120Hz refresh rate) and also has Tobii eye-tracking technology. Eye tracking lets gamers identify enemies, aim, and take cover simply by looking at objects.

Features include:

  • Cherry MX Brown key switches with 16.7 million backlit RGB custom colours and palm rest.
  • Flip-over numeric number pad (flips over to reveal an oversize touch pad).
  • Tobii  eye tracking and infinite screen eye tracking.
  • Dolby 4.2 and Acer TruHarmony audio.
  • Nine heat pipes, and five cooling fans including three ultra-thin AeroBlade illuminated fans and Acer DustDefender.
  • Customisable graphics/engravings for an individual look.
  • Killer DoubleShot Pro prevents game lag and missed opportunities by automatically picking the fastest network connection (Ethernet or wireless).
  • Thunderbolt 3 USB-C at speeds up to 40 Gbps.
  • Two redundant power supplies.
  • HDMI and DisplayPort, Ethernet, USB 3.0, 3.5mm audio SD card support.
  • PredatorSense for total control of lighting, overclocking, and game profiles.
  • The first 300 sold will have a limited-edition number on the panel.
  • It weighs just under 9kg in full kit.

Acer is coy about the price but the Daily Mail reported that in the full kit will set you back A$9000.
